Childrens Bible – Getting to Know God for Kids

September 9, 2010

The Bible has many forms and types, and among them is the childrens bible. This type of bible is more child-friendly than the normal type of bible that we all know about. Kids are only reactive to the things they find interesting, and the plain text and format of the regular bible will surely not pass as interesting for them. Although kids might want to really listen to verses and scriptures from the bible and learn the meanings behind all of these, their minds are not yet ready. The context of the bible is somehow too deep for them to grasp just yet.

But this is not an excuse for us to not teach our children about the bible and about God. Educating your children about religion is only going to be successful while they’re still young. Children are always compared to sponges, because their minds absorb everything they gather from their environment, whether they understand them or not. And because their minds are very tender and open to nearly every single thing, they are free of any negative to affect their learning about God. but how can an individual teach the youth about the words of the Lord, without the use of the bible?

Well, that’s why there are childrens bibles to answer that.. As I have mentioned earlier, these bibles are specially constructed to meet the understanding of young ones. Their cover design and text format are fun and upbeat. They are integrated with fun stuffs that would keep children excited and interactive. In several childrens bibles, there are also games. And of course, who would ever forget about the bible stories that we all know about? They are all included in the childrens bible as well.  You can also choose if you would like to have bibles with illustrations. You can use these illustrations to better explain stories and messages of the bible. And amidst all these wonderful add-ons, it is the core teachings of Christianity that these childrens bibles are made of.

As parents, it is our responsibility to pass on the things we believe and uphold to our children. And it is about God and His ways that we should focus above everything else. Our children might be able to use some advice on school, on friends, and on money. But they would only use these advices on several occasions. It is the lesson in spirituality that they could take to guide them for every moment of their existence. So now that they are still young and their minds are tender, take the opportunity and buy childrens bibles.

Chronicles of Narnia

The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe imageFor decades, CS Lewis’ book series The Chronicles Of Narnia has had children bumping their heads into the backs of old cupboards looking for a winter wonderland populated by fauns, centaurs and talking beavers. This series of popular favourites will extend the imagination beyond its limits and is well worth a listen.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, completed in the spring of 1949 (Ford 2005) and published in 1950, tells the story of four ordinary children: Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie.

When Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy are sent to stay with a kind professor who lives in the country, they can hardly imagine the extraordinary adventure that awaits them.

It all begins one rainy summer day when the children explore the Professor’s rambling old house. When they come across a room with an old wardrobe in the corner, Lucy immediately opens the door and gets inside.

To her amazement, she suddenly finds herself standing in the clearing of a wood on a winter afternoon, with snowflakes falling through the air. Lucy has found Narnia, a magical land of Fauns and Centaurs, Nymphs and Talking Animals — and the beautiful but evil White Witch, who has held the country in eternal winter for a hundred years.
