How to transfer wma-protected audiobooks to an iPod

October 21, 2009 by Audado

This is tutorial how to enjoy audiobooks (wma protected) on your iPod.

Unfortunately, due to the DRM there are some steps involved before you can listen to them on your device.

To circumvent the file protection you need to burn your audiofile onto an audio CD.

Then open iTunes and you see an “Audio CD” icon under “Devices“.

Click it once and you see a small button in the lower right-hand corner of the application window calle “Import CD

If you click it, it will rip the entire CD to Apple’s AAC format, saving it into the iTunes Library and enabling it to be moved to your iPod.

To locate the audiobook files it will be helpful to create a special “myaudiobooks” playlist to the iTunes database. That way, when ever you are in the mood for an audiobook title you know right where to look on your device.

Provided that you have automatic synchronization set up in itunes your files will automatically transfer to your device the very next time you synchronize
